    The State Water Plan depends on water conservation. Saving our water is something we all can do to ensure that Texas has enough water, now and in the future. Our state has recovered from severe drought in recent years, but we all need to do our part to conserve water for future growth. We can do simple things in and around our homes to help. The following tips came from TakeCareOfTexas.org
    • Water or irrigate your yard efficiently to save water and maintain a healthy landscape.
    • Collecting rainwater for landscape use is great for your plants and can save you water and money.
    • Save water by installing water efficient shower heads, toilets, faucets, and faucet aerators. 
    • For big savings, fix household leaks.
    • Use less water every day with a few simple ideas such as turning the water off during hand washing and tooth brushing.
    • Invest in an ENERGY STAR-qualified washing machine, which typically uses about 45% less water and 25% less energy per load.
    • Invest in an ENERGY STAR-qualified dishwasher, which typically uses about 30% less water.
